Mau hoa aloha, gardeners, and homestead growers.
You're invited to join us at the monthly Makers Market at the Stables in Pahoa.
We have available a single 6' table for you to display your produce for a $5 contribution to the Makers Market. Our Market is covered and sheltered from the weather so you do not need a canopy for the garden tables.
Under Hawaii's "raw agricultural product" exemption (Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) Chapter 11-50 (Food Safety Code), whole and uncut fruits, vegetables, and raw shell eggs or unblended honey from your own property are exempt from state Department of Health (DOH) food establishment permit requirements when sold directly to consumers. However, you must keep the produce whole and uncut; slicing, juicing, or minimally processing the fruit immediately changes the regulatory requirements.
Any processing or products made from your whole produce then must follow Hawai'i Cottage Kitchen or Commercial Kitchen permitting rules.
If you choose to include at your table value added processed home garden products and fulfill the Cottage kitchen permitting there will be an additional $5 table fee.
If you'd like to join us on market day (3rd. Sundays) please fill out our vendor application and agree to the Market participation guidelines
Please email if you're like to reserve a table to Makers Market Hui include a name and what you'll likely be selling.
We'll prepare a table for you.
We just request, you bring and use a table cloth and clean the table after use.
